As the operator of iconic transport infrastructure in Brisbane for over 20 years our client is currently undergoing an exciting phase of transformation and growth. With a number of significant multi-million dollar infrastructure and engineering projects on foot, this is a rare opportunity for a talented lawyer to immerse themselves in what is truly a unique mix of work.
Reporting to the General Counsel and Company Secretary you will be an integral member of this new and exciting legal team. Although the focus of your role will be in commercial contracts you can expect that your portfolio of work will be multi-faceted across IP, technology, construction and major projects as well as compliance and risk.
Your success in this role will be largely dependant on not only your strong technical skills but also your ability to be commercial and practical in your approach and also in the advice you provide. You are a pragmatic and solutions focused lawyer who enjoys working in amongst the business and recognises the importance of developing strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
To be considered for this exciting opportunity you will have:
- Between 4 and 5 years P.A.E
- Experience in a well regarded law firm or similar in-house environment
- Strong contract drafting skills
- Strong commercial acumen and solid communication skills
- Proven ability to build relationship and work within a team environment
- A pragmatic and self-driven approach
What is unique about this role is that our client is open to considering lawyers with experience in commercial, IT, construction, major projects or finance. As such, this role is an exciting opportunity for a private practice lawyer to pursue a career in-house under the guidance, mentoring and leadership of a senior practitioner with many years of industry experience.
An attractive salary package commensurate with experience will be offered to the right individual.
